Terms of Use

Last updated 17 October 2026

Places is a travel companion for Android and iOS devices. These terms cover the Places app and this website. By creating an account or using Places, you agree to them. Places is operated by Sushant.

What Places does

You can share a screenshot, an image, or a Google Maps link into Places. Places extracts the venue and address using on-device machine learning and suggests a place. Nothing is kept on your map until you confirm the pin. Saved places stay on your phone, grouped by city, so you can open directions later.

Places does not book restaurants, rooms, or transport. Directions open in the map app you choose, such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze. Those apps have their own terms.

Your account

You need an account to use Places. You can sign up with email and a password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. You are responsible for the account and for activity under it. Keep the sign-in method you chose under your control. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app.

What you share

You may only share material you have the right to send: your own screenshots, links, and captions, or content you are allowed to use. Do not send someone else’s private information, or anything illegal. Places is for real venues a traveler could visit. A suggestion can be wrong. You decide whether to save it.

Usage limits

Places includes on-device extraction, the map, the saved list, place details, and directions, with fair-use daily limits on search and geocoding so the service remains reliable for everyone. Places can adjust these limits as the service changes.

Acceptable use

  • Do not probe, overload, or bypass the app, the API, or another person’s account.
  • Do not use Places to scrape maps, collect other people’s data, or send spam.
  • Do not rely on Places for emergencies, navigation safety, or official travel advice.

The service can change

Places is provided as it is. Maps, extraction, and third-party sign-in can fail or change without notice. Saved places on your phone can be lost if you delete the app or the on-device database. Keep anything you cannot afford to lose in your own notes as well.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Places is not liable for a missed place, a wrong pin, a failed share, or a loss that comes from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits a right that the law says cannot be limited.

These terms

Places can update these terms by posting a new version on this page. If you keep using Places after the update, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using Places and sign out.
